No fewer than 3,000 residents of Ada, Osun State have benefited from a medical mission sponsored by the Proprietor of Mount Davis Hospital, Ada, Mr Bode Adediji.
According to a statement on Monday, specialists, medical consultants and doctors from the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife, participated in the exercise.
The exercise, it stated, was part of the annual medical programme of the Faculty of Clinical Services, OAU.
The event was also used as an avenue to unveil a world-class health facility christened the Saint Davis Hospital in Ada.
Adedeji stated, “Basically, the vision to build the hospital is an inspiration from God. Each time I came to Ada, I came across situations of various types of untimely, undeserved, premature, accidental and mysterious deaths.
“A pertinent question usually bugged me, ‘can something be done to curtail all these incidents?’ Then, the inspiration for the hospital came as a result of that. What cannot be argued is the fact that two or three things usually make up an efficient and effective world-class hospital – physical edifice, equipment, and human capital – the medical professionals available. We have been able to accomplish all these towards achieving the best diagnosis and treatment of patients.”
