The Alowa Owarisa of Ilowa Ijesa, Oba Adebukola Ali has requested the State Government of Osun to magnanimously upgrade the only dispensary available in the ancient town to a Primary Health
Centre (PHC).
The Oba made the request during a courtesy call made on him by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Health, Dr. Olamiju Olasiji.
He disclosed that his subjects usually encounter a lot of hardship to access adequate healthcare services by travelling far to neighbouring towns such as Iregun to receive treatment, noting that this cannot be far-fetched from lack of required medical equipment that can encourage them to patronize the dispensary.
Oba Adebukola was full of commendation to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for the laudable feat achieved in the health sector and overall development of the state in just one year of his administration.
He used the occasion to appeal to the government to give positive consideration to his request, offering to contribute his own quota if there is the need to build a new health centre.
He then expressed his full support to the current administration under Governor Oyetola in the state.
Reacting to the Oba’s request, on behalf of the state government, the Special Adviser admonished sons and daughters of Ilowa Ijesa to strive hard to increase their patronage of the dispensary so as to bring into fruition the request of their Oba saying that it is the only way government can look into the request.
He stated for the umpteenth time that the primary responsibility of the current administration in the state is to ensure that the citizens enjoy healthy living at all times.
Dr Olamiju thanked the Oba for his readiness to partner the Government to upgrade the dispensary noting that if all Obas in the state can take a cue from his proactiveness on development, government’s headache regarding development of the state will be reduced to the barest minimum.
While promising the Oba that his request will be looked into, he appreciated the people of Ilowa for their support for the government
and implored the health workers in the state to work conscientiously, assuring that the era of half salary is completely over.
