The Aragbiji of Iragbijiland, Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayorinde Olabomi (Odundun IV) along with members of his royal council on Friday paid a thank you visit to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun State. The Aragbiji commended the Governor for finally approving the construction of the Osogbo- Iragbiji- Kelebe road which construction has since commenced.
The Aragbiji who was accompanied by his chiefs including Baba Kekere, Iyalode, Balogun, Obaale and Olukotun of Iragbijiland said that the Osogbo-Kelebe-Iragbiji Road had been abandoned for a very long time, making life difficult for residents, especially farmers.

” The Osogbo-Iragbiji-Kelebe road has long been abandoned. Our people suffered. Our farmers lost millions of naira because it was difficult to get their produce to the cities and markets. But today Governor Oyetola has wiped away our tears . Our travel time will be reduced to 10 minutes when this road is commissioned. That’s why we are here to express our gratitude and to encourage the Governor to do more. ” The Aragbiji said.
Oba Olabomi also lauded the Governor on the revitalization of Primary Health Centres across the 332 wards in the state. He said the rehabilitation was not just about structural improvements but one that has brought about a drastic reduction in the tally of avoidable maternal deaths.
Oba Olabomi acknowledged that Iragbijiland has benefitted tremendously from the revitalization drive of the Oyetola-led administration, with three Primary Healthcare Centres already completed and delivered while one is currently undergoing reconstruction.
He therefore prayed for greater wisdom, good health and long life for the Governor, adding that he and his Council members are looking forward to Oyetola’s leadership beyond the current term, which he described as an opportunity for the State of Osun to benefit more from Oyetola’s ingenuity and focused leadership.
Governor Oyetola, in his response, appreciated the Aragbiji of Iragbijiland, and his Council members, for the support and encouragement, adding that such expressions of encouragement motivate him to want to do more.
According to Governor Oyetola: “I know the history of that road, and I am delighted that God is sending help our way in Iragbiji. There are still a lot of good things coming on the way for Iragbiji. I implore you to support the ruling party.
“I wish to congratulate His Royal Majesty, who in my opinion is the luckiest Aragbiji in history. It is in your time that a son of the land occupied the highest position in the State. I acknowledge the role you played in my acceptance to serve and promise to continue to work hard to leave this state better than l met it.” Oyetola said.
