The Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Professor Olalekan Yinusa, has described the budget preparation process of Osun state as inclusive and people-focused, adding that vulnerable citizens have always been critical to the government’s plans.
He disclosed this while declaring open the review and validation meeting of multi-sectorial stakeholders on a social budgeting study, reiterating that government will continue to be for the people and run by the people.
The social budgeting study which is aimed at mitigating poverty especially among children, women and people with disabilities, also examined the opportunities for expansion of the various sources of revenue for the state.
Yinusa declared that the administration of Mr Adegboyega Oyetola was determined to continue to improve the lives of the most vulnerable in the society.
According to Yinusa: “The administration of Mr Adegboyega Oyetola is determined, more than ever, to raise the bar of governance in the State of Osun, and the most vulnerable in the state are the primary target.
“We want to take our people out of the poverty line. That is why it is important that our budget is prepared in a manner that their needs are considered”, he stated.
