President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with the Ogbomosho royal family, the people of Ogbomosholand, as well as the government of Oyo State, over the passage of the Soun of Ogbomosho, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi, Ajagungbade III, (CFR), who died on Sunday.

Forrmer Lagos State Governor and All Progressive Congress’ National Leader, Bola Tinubu, has also described Oba Oyewunmi as a highly respected traditional ruler who worked for peace, unity and development in Ogbomoso, Yorubaland and indeed in Nigeria.

Tinubu described Oba Oyewunmi as a leader with a deep passion for growth and development in Ogbomoso, adding that it was no surprise that commercial and business activities blossomed in the city during his time on the throne.

Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun State, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, and Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State, have also expressed heartfelt condolences over the transition of the Soun of Ogbomoso land, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi, Ajagungbade III, describing his demise in their separate remarks as a great loss to the government and people of Oyo State and Ogbomosoland because of his leadership that brought peace, prosperity, reconciliation and tolerance to the people during his 48 years on the throne of his ancestors.
