Residents of Ife North local government area of the State of Osun, have lauded Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for intensifying efforts to contain community spread of COVID-19 in the State.

This followed the ongoing round of public enlightenment by the Ministry of Information and Civic Orientation of the State of Osun, across the local government areas of the State.

As the sensitization moved to Ife North Local Government Area, residents of Akoda, Sekona, Edun-Abon, Moro, Yakooyo, among others, described the efforts of Governor Oyetola as heart-warming, considering that his actions since the outbreak of the virus have been people-oriented.

Commenting on the efforts of the State Government so far, Mr Adebayo Kamil, a roadside mechanic, said that the Oyetola administration has demonstrated a high sense of responsibility through the handling of issues sorrounding the pandemic, adding that the Governor has truly validated his claims that the people’s welfare is paramount.

“Governor Oyetola has done so well in the ongoing fight against the Coronavirus pandemic in our State. If not for the efforts of the Governor, only God knows what would be happening by now. Oyetola has really done well”, Adebayo stated.

Speaking about the government’s approach, Mrs Ayomide Fadare, a food vendor in Yakooyo, said the various sensitisation programs embarked upon by the government of the State of Osun has helped in no small measure to reduce the spread of the virus in the State.

In her words: “the sensitisation exercises of the state government have been very useful in helping the people know more about the various safety protocols against COVID-19, as outlined by the National Center For Disease Control (NCDC).

The Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs Funke Egbemode, during her address, appreciated the people of Ife North for their compliance level so far, counselling them not to take the virus for granted as it is still spreading like wild fire across the world.

Egbemode, who was represented by the Director, Grassroots and Public Enlightenment, Mrs Boade Shaniyi, assured the people that the Adegboyega Oyetola administration will continue to strive to protect the people of the State from any kind of threat to lives.
