Residents of Egbedore and Ejigbo local government areas today expressed gratitude to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for his efforts in curbing the spread of the deadly second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This was the submission of residents of Dada Estate, Ara junction, Ara, Awo, Iragberi, Aato, Inisha 1, Ejigbo, Okinni, Agunbelewo, LAMECO, among others where the public enlightenment team of the Ministry of Information and Civic Orientation visited in the ongoing sensitisation exercise against the COVID-19 virus.
They described the efforts of the Governor since the outbreak of the deadly virus as that of a kind hearted leader who really wants to protect the masses of the state against the killer virus.
A roadside mechanic at Ejigbo, Mr Kamil Busari who commended the steps taken by the Governor so far in the fight against the virus, explained that the Oyetola administration has demonstrated a high sense of responsibility through the handling of issues sorounding the pandemic.
He said the present administration has shown to the people that their welfare is paramount.
“Governor Oyetola has done so well in the ongoing fight against the Coronavirus pandemic in our state. If not for the efforts of the governor only God knows what would be happening by now, Oyetola has really done well”. Adebayo stated.
Mrs Ayomide Fadare, a food vendor in Iragberi said the various sensitisation programs embarked upon by the government of the state of Osun has gone a long way in helping to reduce the spread of the virus in the state.
She said the sensitisation campaigns of the state government has been very useful in helping the people to know about safety protocols rolled out by the National Center For Disease Control(NCDC) to prevent the virus.
Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs Funke Egbemode while speaking with residents asked them not to take the virus for granted as it is still spreading like wild fire and very deadly.
The Commissioner who was represented on the sensitisation tour by the Co-Ordinating Director in the Ministry, Mr Adebisi Popoola however said the Adegboyega Oyetola administration will continue to strive to protect the masses of the state from contracting the virus.
The Sensitisation exercise continues tommorow to other parts of the State.
