The Governor of Osun State , Mr Adegboyega Oyetola, has earned yet another recognition with his choice by the management of DAAR Communications Plc as Nigeria’s most Outstanding Leader in Governance.
DAAR Communications PLC, owners of African Independent Television (AIT), Ray Power 100.5FM and Faaji FM, formally presented the letter of Award to the governor in his office on Monday.
Governor Oyetola’s nomination was revealed in a letter of award signed by the Group Managing Director of the organisation, Mr Tony Akiotu which was presented by Dr Ambrose Somide-Managing Director – Raypower/Faaji FM on behalf of the GMD of the organization to Governor Oyetola.
According to DAAR Communications, Oyetola’s emergence was as a result of his tireless efforts at multi-level developments in the state.
Dr Ambrose Somide, while congratulating the governor on the award, stated that DAAR Communications’ choice of him as the nation’s Outstanding Leader in Governance came from painstaking nomination and selection processes by the organization.
He added that the governor’s people-friendly policies, his amiable personality, good governance especially in running the affairs of the state with financial integrity stand him out among his peers.
The DAAR Communication Managing Director who urged the governor to keep up the tempo of his leadership style informed the gathering that the official decoration of the award will take place formally during the fourth edition of the DAAR Awards in Abuja slated for the 6th of December, 2021.
In his acceptance speech laced with gratitude to God and appreciation for the management of DAAR communication Plc, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola said the recognition was a manifestation of love and respect coming from a respected organisation like DAAR Communications Plc.
Oyetola in expressing his delight added that the award will further challenge him to do more for the people of Osun.
He did not fail to also urge the High Chief Raymond Dokpesi-owned DAAR Communications Plc to keep up the good work of being one of Nigeria’s respected private broadcast media organisations.
Top government functionaries of the state witnessed the brief but symbolic event. Among them were the state Deputy Governor, Mr Benedict Alabi, Chief of Staff, Dr Charles Akinola, Deputy Chief of Staff, Prince Abdullah Binuyo and the state Head of Service, Dr Festus Olowogboyega Oyebade. Also in attendance were Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Funke Egbemode, her counterpart from Education, Folorunso Oladoyin and Special Adviser on Education, Jamiu Olawumi, State chairman, Universal Basic Education Board, Ajibola Famurewa and the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ismail Omipidan.
