The Osun Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Funke Egbemode, has congratulated Muslims in the State and beyond on the successful completion of the month-long Ramadan fasting.
Egbemode, in a statement, expressed gratitude to the Muslim Community and residents of the State for their contributions to the gains Osun has recorded in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic in the last one year.
“It is gratifying that this year’s Ramadan is ending on a good note. It is more gratifying that the State of Osun has made significant progress in combating the Covid-19 pandemic that prevented any form of gathering and public prayers in the previous year.
“On behalf of the Governor and government of the State, we thank the Muslims and the residents of the State for the sacrifices made in combating the Covid-19 pandemic in Osun.
“We urge the continued support and cooperation of residents of the State in adhering to the Covid-19 non-pharmaceutical protocols as directed by the government, both at the Federal and State level.
“We urge our brothers and sisters to continue to ensure peaceful coexistence across the communities of the State, and to continue to act with good and progressive intentions beyond the Ramadan season.
“We also urge our Muslim brothers and sisters, and all residents of the State to continue to cooperate with the administration of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola through steadfast prayers and alignment with the policies and programmes of the administration.
“This is an administration that is driven by the passion to make life more meaningful to residents of the State through people-centered actions that are both godly and humane. This is an administration that is committed to the socio-economic transformation of the State, with the aim of leaving the State better than what it use to be.
“Once again, we wish our Muslim brothers and sisters a rewarding Eid-el-Fitr celebration”, Egbemode stated.
