The Commander of the Osun Joint Task Force, CSP Ogbuefi Henry-King, has lauded the State of Osun as a relatively peaceful State when compared with other states of the federation.

He, however,  expressed the outift’s commitment to ensure that the state is totally rid of criminal activities.

Henry-King, speaking during a courtesy call on the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs Funke Egbemode, also lauded Governor Adegboyega Oyetola’s commitment to the security of lives and properties of the residents of the state, adding that the Joint Task Force was equally committed to the agenda.

He also lauded the efforts of the federal government in addressing insecurity in Nigeria, expressing optimism that cases of insecurity would soon be surmounted in the country.

He emphasised that security was a collective responsibility, and admonished citizens to continue to cooperate with the government at every level, especially through the provision of useful information to augment the various strategies being adopted to checkmate the ugly situation.

“With the situation on ground here, I can confidently beat my chest, with all sense of modesty and responsibility that Osun is relatively peaceful. However, it is still not enough for all of us to relax and conclude that all is completely well”, Henry-King said.

In her remarks, the Commissoner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs Funke Egbemode, expressed the readiness of the Oyetola-led government to continue to support all the security agencies in the state towards achieving lasting peace and security in the state.

Egbemode noted that it is only in an atmosphere of peace and harmony that the  government and the people will be able to sleep with their eyes closed.

She however stressed the need  for all hands to be on deck at all times towards sustaining  the existing cordial relationship between all the security agencies and the State Government of Osun.

“On behalf of Mr Governor, I want to assure you that we will do everything morally and officially possible for you and other security agencies to be able to always carry out your primary responsibility of securing the government and the good  people of the state without any hinderance.

“Governor Oyetola is passionate about security and will not hesitate to lend the required support for security agencies to optimally function”, Egbemode said.
