“Let’s Observe Lockdown in Ijeshaland” – Hon. Komolafe
The lawmaker, representing Atakunmosa East, and Atakunmosa West State Constituency at the Osun State House Assembly, Hon Babatunde Festus Komolafe (BFK), has advised indigenes of Ijeshaland to support the efforts of the government of Osun in the fight against the spread of COVID-19.
This followed the directives of the State Government locking down four local government areas in the State, as part of measures to contain the spread of the virus.
The affected local government areas include Ilesha East, Ilesha West, Atakumosa East and Atakumosa West; being the areas that make up the Ijeshaland.
It would be recalled that the government has ordered the lockdown of the areas upon a suspicion of a community transmission, given the recent surge in the number of confirmed cases from the axes.
Reacting to the directive of the State Government, Hon. Komolafe said the people of his constituency should as a matter of duty comply with the directive, as the step is part of measures to keep the state safe from COVID-19.
According to him: “It is imperative for all and sundry to make sacrifices, and complement the efforts of Governor Gboyega Oyetola in the fight against COVID-19”.
BFK also charged traditional rulers, community leaders, men and women as well as youths in Atakumosa East and Atakunmosa West State Constituency to adhere strictly with the directive of government, and NCDC on COVID-19, adding that the virus is both real and deadly.
He urged members of the public to embrace the use of face masks, observe social distancing, and maintain high level of personal hygiene.
