The Wife of the Governor of the State of Osun, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola, has said meticulous planning, deployment of talents and sustainable management of resources, have been the operations code of the administration of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola in the State of Osun, adding that development can only be attained and sustained with these codes.
Mrs Kafayat Oyetola made this assertion, today, while felicitating with the students and management of the School for Special Needs, Osogbo, on the 29th year anniversary of the creation of the State.
According to her: “We have come a long way since the creation of the State 29 years ago. It has certainly not been a linear journey. Experience, science and history have taught us that development can only be attained and sustained with meticulous planning, deployment of talents and sustainable management of resources. These have been the operation code of Governor Gboyega Oyetola since his inauguration.
“The administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola is very determined to continue to activate and harness all the talents in this state in order to take Osun to the greater height of positive development.
“You are all living witnesses of the fact that in almost two years of the inauguration of this administration, it has recorded unprecedented achievement in the areas of human and physical development.
“The ability to keep the economy of our homes running through regular and timely payment of salaries, has been inspired by the wonderful support from the people of this state. The same has inspired the physical development that we are witnessing in all nooks and crannies of the state”, she stated.
The wife of the Governor, in a temperate COVID-19 safety protocols compliant celebration, also urged students and management of the school to continue to adhere to the various precautionary measures that will protect them against the coronavirus pandemic.
She continued: “The lessons that we have learnt so far since the incubation of the virus is that simple hygiene behaviour can save us and the state from further spread of the virus. All we need to do is wash our hands with soap regularly, observe social distancing with people and where this cannot be done, each person must wear a mask.
“I plead with teachers and management of this great school to please ensure that the students are continuously guided in this line. The life of each of you is very important to the overall development of this state”, she said.
Also speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs Funke Egbemode, appreciated the wife of the Governor for the initiative, adding that there is need for more people to reach out to people with special needs.
In her words: “We thank those who continue to assiduously create time to pilot this school of children with Special needs. We thank our mother the First Lady of Osun, Alhaja Kafayat Oyetola who creates special time for these special children.
“We need to keep supporting and encourage them at all times. As a matter of contribution to the development and well-being of these children, we must all find something to do in our different ministries to support them”, Egbemode stated.
In his remark, the Principal of the School, Mr Solomon Olawale Ayegboyin, appreciated the State Government of Osun for being mindful of the students and management of the school, adding that: “despite the peculiarities of these students, the government under the leadership of Alhaji AdeGboyega Oyetola still gives them top priority by coming to their level to identify with them as we are witnessing today”.
