Stakeholders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Odo-Otin local government (Okuku Zone), on Friday, passed a vote of absolute confidence on Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and his administration in the State of Osun.

The group also endorsed the sterling performance of the Chairman of the All Progressive Congress in the State of Osun, Prince Gboyega Famodun, in the discharge of his leadership duties in the party.

Declaring what the group called “vote of absolute confidence” during the reconciliatory meeting of the party stakeholders in the zone, the APC Party Treasurer, Odo Otin Local Government Area, Mustapha Abdul-wasiu, said the Governor has excelled in service delivery and developmental projects and programmes within two years of his administration.

Meanwhile, as part of moves to forge a united APC in Odo-Otin local government, the representatives of the local government in the cabinet of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, have advised aggrieved members to lay all agitations to rest for the sake of peace and unity of the State.

Speaking on behalf of the cabinet members of Odo-Otin origin, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Water Resources, Felix Adeniran Ibitoye, said: “I want everyone to know that all subsisting agitations and contentions in Odo-Otin have been laid to rest.

“Today is the maiden meeting in year 2021, and also an important one because it stands upon the authority of the Governor and the State Party Chairman, with the aim of pacifying all aggrieved members so that things can begin to go as they should.

“We are grateful that you have responded well, and you have passed a vote of absolute confidence on the governor and the party chairman.

“The party has enough room to admit people who desire to join,  including our brothers and sisters who at some point sought electoral fortunes on other party platforms.

“Our leader is a man with a large heart, and he has extended hands of fellowship to such people. We should emulate his peaceful demeanour and quit the squabbles. In love, unity and peace lies our strength.

“Let us support the leader that is recognised in the mainstream of the party. Comrade Poju Odusola is the leader in Odo-Otin”, Ibitoye stated.

Reacting to the issue of factionalisation of the party in the local government area, the parry leader at the Odo-Otin Central level (Okuku Zone), Mr Adebowale Olaoye, called on members to shun actions that could destabilise the dividends of progressive governance that is currently in force in the State of Osun.

He said: ” Oyetola has done well to make life  bearable for citizens even in the midst of hardship. We cannot over-emphasize his interventions with respect to the welfare of workers and citizens.

“Why then are we allowing factions in our party? Let it be known that there can never be progress where dissonance exists. If we really claim that Oyetola is doing well, and that we love him and we want him to keep delivering the dividends of democracy, it is time for us to put our differences aside and forge a united front.

“I also call on our members to be good ambassadors of the party. Desist from conducts that make observers look down on our party. Don’t allow people to lose interest in joining this great party because of the way you conduct yourself in the society “, Olaoye stated.
