Two indigent students; Adebayo Waris of Onaolapo Memorial High School and Lateef Abiodun of Coker Memorial High School both in Ikirun, were Wednesday blessed by the Commissioner for Education, Hon. Folorunso Oladoyin with new school uniforms.
The Commissioner who was on an inspection to some schools in Ifelodun Local Government Area, commended Principals and School teachers in Osun on the high level of compliance with the new education policies of the present administration which commenced with the 2020/2021 academic session.
Oladoyin while speaking said “I am happy to see the high level of compliance, especially with the students who were given a period of two weeks to go back to their new uniforms.
“Our Principals and teachers have demonstrated a high level of responsibility and support for the Government of the day by ensuring that their students have gone back to their original school names.
“They have also helped in ensuring that all students adhered strictly to the two weeks grace on the change of uniforms and that schools are now operating the full complement of a primary and secondary school.
While addressing the students, the former lawmaker advised them to face their studies and shun all forms of vices, saying they are the future which the State and the country rely upon for a great nation.
He urged them to get themselves prepared for the new world which he described as the world that only responsible individuals who are ready to take on challenges can fit in, stressing it is going to be a world that will require critical thinkers who can develop new ideas.
Some of the schools visited are Onaolapo Memorial High School, Ikirun, Coker Memorial High School, Ikirun, Holy Micheal High School, Ikirun and Orimolade Commercial Grammar School, Ikirun.
