Osun Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Obawale Adebisi, has appealed to Osun citizens to support tourism in the State in order to promote the sector.
The call for support came during during the maiden civic engagement programme of Governor Oyetola’s administration, tagged “Apero,” organized by the State Ministry of Information and Civic Orientation, held at Akinorun High School in Ikirun.
Hon. Obawale stressed that Tourism is one of the major foci of the administration of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and thus needs to be well promoted, noting that it is also a steady avenue of increasing Internally Generated Revenue for the State.
He further stated that the government is working round the clock to ensure the promotion of Olumirin Water Fall in Erin Ijesa. He thus called for private collaboration with the government on the development of tourism sites like Olumirin, amongst other Sites.
The Commissioner also explained that letters have been forwarded to all Local Governments across the State, to know the different cultural festivals and tourism sites in their respective domain, for government to be able to promote them.
