The Government of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has been commended for considering persons with disabilities as beneficiaries of the palliatives put in place by the Pastor Enoch Adeboye-led 21-Man Food and Relief Committee.
Chairman, Joint Association of Persons With Disabilities (JONAPWD), Comrade Kehinde Onitiju made this known in an interview with the Press Crew of the Ministry of Information and Civic Orientation, at the distribution center in Ife Central Local Government at the weekend.
Onitiju stated that persons with disabilities in the six zones in the State benefited and this was commendable. “This is the first time in history that any government is considerate of the disabled in the society”, he added.
He applauded Governor Oyetola for being a man with a large heart to have considered the plight of persons with disabilities in the State who are vulnerable.
Onitiju also said that the disabled in the society were the worst hit with hunger during the lockdown period, because they are neglected by people, but were due to the magnanimity of Osun Government and the 21-Man Committee, their suffering had been minimized.
“A good chunk of the palliatives being distributed went to persons with disabilities and other vulnerables and we are very grateful to the Committee for clearly stating this out in the distribution formula. Governor Oyetola loves us and has saved us”, he said.
The JONAPWD Chairman also commended the Cabinet members of Governor Oyetola and urged people to reciprocate the good gesture of the government, as well as perform their civic responsibilities.
