The Governor of the State of Osun, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola has been commended over the humanitarian support rendered to the people of the state via his administration’s laudable food support scheme.

The scheme which is aimed at feeding thirty thousand people monthly, will have another round distributed next week, Tuesday, making it the third phase so far in which the aged, artisans, market men and women among others would benefit from the scheme.

Commissioner for Regional Integration and Special Duties who is also the Chairman, Osun Food Support Scheme also known as “Ounje Ileri” Engr. Olalekan Badmus gave the commendation during a meeting with the assigned representatives in charge of the Food Support Scheme drawn from different local government Areas of the state.
Engr.Badmus expressed appreciation to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for providing Social Operation Coordinating Unit ( SOCU) relief to the people .

The Commissoner equally urged the representatives from all the local government areas in-charge of the scheme to always carry along critical stakeholders in their localities.

He,however, expressed misgiving towards those who have not been up and doing in the course of the assignment.
Accordingly he charged them to be alive to their responsibilities in order to justify the genuine intention of the governor regarding the Food Support Scheme.

On the mode of distribution of the food items,Engr.Olalekan Badmus emphasised that only the lists​ obtained from various local governments would be used by the Committee.
He consequently urged the aged and the vulnerable in each local governments of the state to meet with the assigned representatives in charge of the Food Support Scheme in their wards for proper documentation.

In her remarks, Commissoner for Human Resources,Alhaja Latifat Giwa who is a representative of the Food Support Scheme for the people of Ede North, appreciated the Commissioner for Regional Integration and Special Duties, Engr. Olalekan Badmus for a job well done since the commencement of the Scheme in the state of Osun.
Alhaja Giwa also suggested the need for SOCU forms to be given out to the local government representatives early enough in order to enhance quick submission and documentation.
She similarly thanked Governor Oyetola for remembering the people of the state at a critical time like this through the well organised and well packaged food items for the consumption of thirty thousand people monthly.

In the same vein, Chairman, Irepodun Local Government, Ounje Ilerio Scheme and his Ilesa East Local Government counterpart, Hon. Rufus Oyegbile alongside Dr. Tunde Faleye lauded the efforts of Mr Adegboyega Oyetola in relieving the hardship in the lives of the people of the State through the Osun Food Support Scheme.

In his closing remarks shortly after reaching a consensus that Tuesday next week will be the day of the distribution of the third phase of the food support scheme, Commissioner for Regional Integration and Special Duties Eng.Olalekan Badmus appealed to the representatives from the various local governments to represent the state government in a positive manner while the exercise lasted.

Present at the meeting were the Secretary to the State Government,Prince Wole Oyebamiji represented by Mr.Jelili Tiamiyu, Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security , Mr Dayo Adewole ,the Coordinating Director of the Ministry of Special duties and Regional Integration, Mr Kunle Falode and other top management staff of the Ministry among others.
