The State Government of Osun has commiserated with the people of IWOYE in Egbedore Local Government Area, over the recent transition of the Oluwoye of IWOYE, Oba Alhaji Abdul-Rasheed Ademola Oyeweso Osundeyi ll.
The second-class Osun monarch joined his forebears after reigning for 17 years in the ancient town of IWOYE.
While mourning the passage of the monarch, the State Government of Osun, through a statement signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs Funke Egbemode, described Oba Alhaji Abdul-Rasheed Ademola Oyeweso Osundeyi ll as a blessing to the people of Iwoye in particular and to the State of Osun in general.
The statement read in part: “during his reign, he played a leading role in the development of the community which earned him recognized chieftaincy by the Government as a Second Class Oba in the State by the last administration.”
“The provision of rural electrification in the community was achieved during his reign, thanks to the intervention of Governor Adebisi Akande”, it was added.
The State Government prayed God to grant the people of Iwoye and the entire Egbedore Local Government Area of the State the fortitude to bear the inevitable loss of one of the foremost traditional rulers in the Area.
