Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun State has approved the renovation of Osogbo Township Stadium with immediate effect.
This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Yemi Lawal, at a reception organised in honour of the state female football team, Osun Babes.
Lawal, who lauded the recent superlative performance of the female team, assured that the government remains committed to the welfare of the players and their officials.
While congratulating the team on behalf of the state governor, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola for doing the state proud, Lawal emphasized that he will do everything humanly possible to ensure that the team enjoys the full support of the state government at all times in order to enable them project the name of the State to an enviable height in their subsequent encounters.
He charged that the State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, in line with his known friendly disposition to sporting activities, expects nothing less than the best from the State’s teams at all times.
While assuring the team of the review of their monthly salaries and allowances to encourage them to put in their best all the time, he called on the newly signed players of Osun Babes to quickly complete their contract signing agreement with the State Government in order to partake in the many largesse awaiting them in Osun.
He, however, sought the love and support of the two teams towards the actualisation of the huge investment of Governor Oyetola on them, stressing that to whom much is given much is expected.
In her words of appreciation, the Assistant Captain of Osun Babes, Sarah Iloduba, acknowledged and hailed the magnanimity of the state gpvernment, which according to her gave birth to the success recorded by the team in their last encounter.
While promising to keep the tempo of their performances high in their subsequent football outings at both local, national and even international levels in 2022, Iloduba implored the state government to hasten up the fulfilment of many of its pledges to them.
