Osun Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola places
utmost priority on the well-being of the people of the State irrespective of the meagre resources coming from the federation account.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Health, Dr. Siji Olamiju stated this on behalf of the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Rafiu Isamotu during a meeting held at the conference all of the ministry of health in Osogbo with officials from the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority NNRA,who came to the Ministry to solicit support towards ensuring the regulation of ionising radiation in the interest of the masses.
Speaking, the head of South-West office of NNRA, Mrs Ajani Abimbola stated that the Organisation is saddled with the responsibility of ensuring safety of operators of ionising radiation equipment and the patients, saying uncontrolled radiation and exposure to it are
inimical to the health of the people.
Dr Olamiju while welcoming the visitors explained that unregulated radiation has bad wagon effects on humanity. He expressed dismay in several health policies in the country which had summersaulted at the execution stage.
The S A to the Governor on Health assured NNRA of the state government’s support in actualising their mission in the interest of all and sundry.
He lauded Governor Oyetola over his giant strides in virtually all sectors of the state, especially in health sector such as renovation of Government hospitals across the state, including three hundred and thirty two primary health centres, approval of CONMESE and CONHES for health workers, effective management of covid-19 cases in the state among others.
The meeting had in attendance Directors from the Ministry of Health, officials from the Directorate of Civil Health, members of the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority led by its head of operational office, Abeokuta, among others.
