The Task Force on COVID-19 in the State of Osun, today, commenced enforcement of total lockdown in four local government areas of the State as part of efforts to contain the rising number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the State.
The State Government of Osun announced on Saturday that it would impose precision lockdown measures in areas where surge in cases of coronavirus had recently been recorded.
The affected areas include: Ilesha East, Ilesha West, Atakumosa East and Atakumosa West local government areas of the State.
As part of the enforcement exercise, the Task Force mounted road blocks in the axis to prevent vehicular movements, based on the guidelines set by the State Government.
Also, the enforcement team combed towns and streets in the affected areas to turn people back to their homes in compliance with the government’s directives.
The precision lockdown shall be in force for one week in the first instance.
