At least five trailer lorries belonging to Dangote Company Plc were today impounded at the Osun State Secretariat Abere by the Office of Transportation for refusal to pay outstanding debt to the State Government since 2019. Authorities of the Osun Office of Transportation disclosed that this is sequel to cumulative debts owe the state by the Company on various parking fees and charges on the state roads.
The Executive Secretary,Office of Transportation,Engr. Bilal Adiat told newsmen that Government decided to use force as the state had previously written series of letters and reminders to the Company on the need to remit the parking fees to Government coffers up to September 2019.The Executive Secretary stated further that the daily activities of the trailers on the state highway are causing damages on roads, maintenance of which government is spending millions of naira to fix from time to time.
