The State Government of Osun under the leadership of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola will continue to do everything within its reach to ensure that the people of the state always enjoy good health through the provision of optimum health care delivery system.

 

The Commissioner for Health in the State of Osun, Dr. Rafiu Isamotu gave the remark at the Ladoke Akintola Teaching Hospital(LAUTECH), Osogbo while on a rescue mission to save the life of a 40 year old indigent citizen of the state named Ramotalai Adetunji, who severely got burnt at her Okeola, Ojo Oba Area residence, Osogbo in August 2019.

 

Dr Isamotu said he got wind of the development via the social media adding that the gory sight of the patient aroused his compassion to swiftly swing into action to rescue the victim. It is on record that Dr. Isamotu personally led his team to the place of abode of this patient and evacuated her to Lautech where she is being treated now by team of experts.

 

He said further that Osun is blessed with a Governor who believes so much in the good health of his citizenry saying that the Governor Adegboyega Oyetola – led administration will leave no stone unturned to bring adequate healthcare delivery closer to its people. While reacting to the fact that the victim had been kept indoor by her relatives since last year, the Commissioner then appealed to the people of the state with similar predicament to always reach out early enough so as to bring quick respite to victims of such incidences.

 

Also in his statement at the hospital, the Executive Secretary, Osun Health Insurance Scheme, Dr. Niyi Oginni said the scheme has the objective of achieving accessibility by making healthcare accessible to everybody in the state irrespective of whether they are poor or rich adding that the scheme will continue to contribute to their healthcare in such a way that they can get quality care at an affordable rate.

 

He then promised that the State Government through OHIS will do its best to take care of Ramotalai detailing the management of LAUTECH to make available whatever she needs to aid her quick recuperation.
