Osun State government, on Monday, opened the newly-completed iconic Olaiya flyover for citizens’ use, with Governor Adegboyega Oyetola taking the first ride on the overpass.
In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engr Remi Omowaiye, the opening, happening exactly a year after the project was flagged-off for construction, was to allow a test run by the general public after due certification for safe ride by external Consultants.
The government also lauded residents of the State for the perseverance exercised while the construction was on.
It however cautioned citizens to exercise caution and observe traffic rules while plying the bridge.
According to the government, “the date for the official commissioning shall be announced in due
course”.
