Osun Govt starts mass recruitment of O’YES cadets …enrolls 30,000 youth into Health Insurance Scheme

May 9, 2022

The State Government of Osun has announced that the tenure of the fourth batch of cadets enlisted for the Osun Youth Empowerment Scheme (OYES) will end on August 31, 2020.

The Government has however made a provision for interested cadets who are willing to be engaged as ad hoc staff, to be granted a concession for six months only.

The Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Mr Yemi Lawal, while speaking at an interview, said the concession would serve as a space filler pending when the recruitment of a new batch of cadets is done.

According to him: “It would be recalled that the current batch of OYES Cadets was engaged on 1st September 2018, for a period of 24 months. By implication, their tenure ends on 31st August 2020.

“The government recognizes the fact that some of the cadets may not have prepared for the transition, and has therefore  created a window for some of them to be re-engaged as ad hoc staff for a maximum of period of six months, pending when the recruitment of a new batch commences”, Lawal stated.
