The State Government of Osun has announced that palliative distribution will commence August 11, 2020, after the official handover by CACOVID at Ede.
In a statement signed by the Honorable Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs Funke Egbemode, the distribution will target Frontline HealthWorkers, Pensioners, Tax-paying Private Schools in Osun and Widows.
The State Government of Osun had distributed stimulus packages donated by the 21-Man Food and Relief Committee, constituted by Governor Adegboyega Oyetola to cushion the effects of the lockdown occasioned by the Coronavirus pandemic.
The distribution was done using the Osun World Bank-approved social investment registers and through special interest groups such as orphanage homes, religious communities, traditional institutions, trade groups, among others.
The palliatives were distributed across socio-economic, political and religious divides; especially to vulnerables and indigent citizens across the 31 local governments in the State: Odo Otin, Ilesha West, Ede North, Atakumosa East, Atakumosa West, Isokan, Irewole, Iwo, Ila, Ifedayo, Ejigbo, Oriade, Ife Central, Boripe, Irepodun, Egbedore,Ayedire, Ife East, Boluwaduro, Obokun, Ife South, Olaoluwa, Ifelodun, Osogbo, Olorunda, Ilesha East, Modakeke, Ife North Ede South, Ayedaade and Orolu local governments.
