The Osun state Governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, has lifted embargo on the commencement of another round of promotion and conversion for Osun workers.
According to a circular sighted by our correspondent, mandating officers to commence computation of those who are due for either promotion or conversion.
The statement read in part;
“The magnanimity of His Excellency, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, in lifting embargo on promotion and conversion, it is imperative to make definite clarifications to facilitate seamless implementation of the promotions and conversion for all eligible officers in the public service for years 2019 and 2020.”
“Agencies are required to put in place, the necessary Junior and Senior staff committees for the purpose of promotion and associated establishment matters.”
Reacting, the labour leaders in the state, Comrade Tunde Jacob Adekomi, Comrade Adebowale Adekola and Com Bayo Adejumo the Leaders of the Organised Labour Appreciated the ingenuity and prompt action of Mr Oyetola towards the welfare of the workers in the state, adding that it is a welcome development.
“We are grateful to his excellency for living up to his promise. During our negotiations, he promised not to toy with workers’ welfare which all of us can attest to. Since the inception of this administration, workers have been receiving their monthly salaries as at when due based on New Minimum Wage as agreed upon. They However,caution the busybody and interlopers to think straight and be guided in the relationship and affairs of the Government and his employee.
