Governor of The State of Osun, Adegboyega Oyetola, has congratulated the Ogiyan of Ejigbo, Oba Omowonuola Oyeyode Oyesosin II, on the occasions of his 85th birthday celebration and 47th coronation anniversary.

Oyetola in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ismail Omipidan, described the Oba as a fountain of wisdom and knowledge, and a custodian of the culture, customs and tradition of Ejigbo and the Yoruba.

He said he was happy to join family, friends, associates, well-wishers, sons and daughters of Ejigbo to celebrate the traditional ruler. He commended him for his commitment and contributions to the progress and development of Ejigbo land in particular and Osun at large.

According to the governor, the peaceful and fruitful reign of Oba Omowonuola has brought about several positive developments for Ejigbo and its people.

He also appreciated the monarch for his support for his administration since inception, saying that he would continue to count on his support and that of other traditional rulers across the State, in the task of taking Osun to greater heights.

“On behalf of my family, government and the good people of the State of Osun, I am happy to join family members, friends, associates, well-wishers and sons and daughters of Ejigbo land to felicitate with HRM, Oba Omowonuola Oyeyode Oyesosin II, on the occasions of his 85th birthday and 47th coronation anniversary.

“Oba Omowonuola remains a humble and respected royal father; a fountain of wisdom and knowledge and custodian of the culture, customs and tradition of Ejigbo and the Yoruba. I commend his commitment and contributions to the progress and development of Ejigbo land in particular and Osun at large.

“We appreciate Baba’s wise and valuable counsel to and support for our administration since inception. We will continue to count on his support and that of our other revered traditional rulers across the State, as we continue the task of taking Osun to greater heights.

“I pray God Almighty bless the Ogiyan of Ejigboland with longer life, strength and more wisdom to enable him to continue to serve his subjects, society and humanity,” Oyetola added.
