“We thank God for the life of our Governor, who isn’t a man of many words but is an institution of knowledge. So far so good, he is doing well according to Ifa divination, but we must not relent in upholding him with our prayers so that he will continue to have the fear of God to do what is right in the interest of the people”.
These were the words of the President of Traditional Religion Worshippers Association, State of Osun, Dr Oluseyi Atanda, in an interview on Wednesday, with osunnewsroom.com.
He commended the economic diversification model adopted by the state government under the leadership of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.
Recall that Oyetola, in the first year of his administration, identified agriculture, mining, as well as culture and tourism as economic growth vectors through which his administration would diversify the State’s economy.
“His support for culture and cultural festivals has been commendable, and he has particularly taken culture many notches higher by highlighting culture as a means of economic development for the State.
“This is a step in the right direction because Ifa told us two years ago that Osun State should look inward and make use of what it has to help its finances. It is a good thing that culture has been identified because Osun is home of culture and indigenous religion.
“We are happy that Governor Oyetola strategically aligned with this direction for the benefit of the State. Atanda said.
