The Senior Executive Course 43,2021 Participants of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies,(NIPSS)Kuru,Jos currently on a one week study tour of the state of Osun were today stunned by the state Head of Service,Dr Olowogboyega Oyebade while reeling out the many success stories of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola in Governance and General Administration of the state in the last three years.
Addressing a roundtable discussion which centred on * ” *Trends in and frameworks for Policy and Programme implementation in Osun,”** Dr Oyebade attributed the successes to Governor Oyetolas worker- friendly disposition style,which, according to him made Osun to be making history as the only state in Nigeria where no single industrial tension or disharmony of any kind has been recorded in the last three years.
Describing Governor Oyetola as endowed with moral and intellectual finesses in effectively managing men and resources of the state ,Dr Oyebade to the surprise and interest of the Course 43 NIPSS participants said Osun remains the only state again in Nigeria where the governor operates an Administration with high sense of fidelity and resourcefulness .
The H.O.S told the participants that workers in Osun under Oyetola bade farewell to a half salary syndrome which became their lot for over 6 years shortly when Oyetola took over the mantle of leadership from the immediate past Administration.
“In Osun,the era of half salary is now a thing of the past.Workers get their salaries and promotion as and when due. They regularly have an interface on general happenings on the way forward for the state with Mr governor from time to time” said the state Head Of Service.
When asked by the participants to situate what could be attributed to the myriads of achievements being recorded by Mr Oyetola in the various sectors like Education,Health,Works and Transport, Information and Civic Orientation, Water and Environmental sanitation, Infrastructure and General Administration, Dr Oyebade said it might not be far from the reality on ground that
“Oyetola as a person and as a governor doesn’t bite more than he can chew,governance- wise.
“I want to tell you with all sense of modesty and sincerity of purpose that in the state of Osun, Oyetola is not only physically and mentally prepared for the task of governance but emotionally attached to moving Osun forward in all ramifications.”
“Here is a governor who is not only having a well entrenched political goodwill for his people but in tune with fulfilling all his electioneering campaign promises to them, and who, in turn , have been very supportive of his dreams to make Osun a model for other states in Nigeria” Concluded Oyebade .
The Head of Service was accompanied to the presentation by the state Commissoner for Human Resources and Capacity Building ,Alhaja Lateefat Giwa, Permanent Secretary in the office of the H.O.S, Mr ‘Leye Aina as well as a Director in the Public Service Office (PSO)Mr Najeem Akintola among other top government functionaries.
Reacting to the presentation which drew a thunderous applause from the Course 43 Participants, , the team leader, Dr Nasir Usman commended the passion and commitment with which Oyetola led Administration has been piloting the affairs of the state in the last two years.
Dr Nasir while also applauding the worker friendly disposition of the administration of Mr Oyetola, emphasised that with what the team met and saw in Osun since arrival, the state has reawaken and broadened their knowledge about how Governance and Administration should be carried out devoid of any let down.###
