As Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun State marks his third year in office, he has attributed the sustainable multi- sectorial services and programmes of his administration to God’s grace and direction.

This, he described as a deliberate divine arrangement to prosper the people of Osun at God’s own appointed time.

Speaking on Sunday at the third anniversary thanksgiving service at Methodist Church of Nigeria, Isale-Aro, Osogbo, Oyetola described the developments recorded in the first three years as foundational structures required to put Osun in the country’s front line.

He therefore called on citizens to remain steadfast in their support, adding that the government is unrelenting in its resolve to take Osun to an enviable height.

“We have spent the first three years to build structures, lay foundation for good governance, create wealth and provide quality and equitable services to banish lack and want and grant our people a life of sustained prosperity across the State.

“Having laid these structures, the stage is now set to build solid governance and development structures to achieve our aim of putting Osun on the frontline in the country.

“The developments that we have provided in these past three years shall witness geometric progression, going forward. This is our pact with You the People. We were able to deliver the modest achievements of the past three years by the grace of God and your unflinching support.

“God’s Grace is constant and we shall be unrelenting in our resolve. I therefore admonish you to be steadfast in your support so that, together, we can take Osun to the Promised Land”, Oyetola said.

He also thanked the Church and the entire citizenry for support through prayers and propagation of the doctrines of peace and harmony, adding that these acts have played a huge role in sustaining the outstanding peace profile of the State.

He continued: “We are therefore here today to express deep gratitude to the Body of Christ, using, Methodist Church as a point of contact. The churches across the State have been very supportive from our inception, offering prayers, spiritual counsel and preaching words of peace and harmony to sustain the peaceful status of Osun as the most peaceful State in the country. In our moments of trial and blazes of glory, the church was there for us, urging the congregants to pray for government.

“On behalf of the Government and People of Osun, I thank the church for the steadfast love and staunch support, for believing in us and rallying the people to support the government in power as admonished by the Bible, the Holy Book of Christians.

“We owe a debt of gratitude to the Leaderships of the Churches across the State for standing with us and showing direction and guidance, and for not only preaching religious tolerance but also leading from the front to sustain the peace in the State”, he added.

In his homily, the Diocesan Bishop of Methodist Church of Nigeria, Osogbo and Chairman of Osun Chapter of Christian Association of Nigeria (OS-CAN), Rt. Reverend Amos Kayode Olu Ogunrinde, lauded Governor Oyetola for returning to give thanks to God, described the governor’s gratitude to God as a foundation for future blessings.

Ogunrinde, who described Oyetola as quiet, unassuming yet full of action, said God has not only been good to the governor but also to the entire citizenry, adding that “we are proud to have you as our governor”.

In his words: “Today is a special day in the life of the governor and government of Osun, because God has been good to him and especially faithful to the promises made to the governor. God started with Governor Oyetola with a promise, to which He has showed Himself faith since the inception of this administration three years ago. Since taking the mantle of leadership on November 27, 2018, God has been so good, not only to him but to every citizen of Osun. We are proud that we have you as governor of the State.

“This gesture that you have made today definitely shows that you have a place for God in your heart and haven’t forgotten what God has done and is still doing. Even with meagre resources, you have continued to strive for what is good and noble, with infrastructural developments ongoing and workers’ welfare not jettisoned.

“For your heart of thanksgiving and putting God first, I believe that the future can only get brighter for you, because whenever any man puts God first, he is bound to experience the miracle of multiplication”, Ogunrinde said.
