The Governor of the State of Osun, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola, has released the sum of One Billion, Two Million Naira (N 1,200,000,000) as part of his commitment to improve the welfare of retired civil servants and workers of the State.

In a press release signed by the Head of Service, Dr Festus Olowogboyega Oyebade, the sum of Seven Hundred and Fifty-Two Millions (N 752,000,000) as monthly pensions to all retired workers under the old Pensions Scheme for the month of September 2022.

He added that an additional sum Three Hundred and Fifty Million Naira (N 350,000,000) was released for the payment of Contributory Pensions Scheme for retirees on new Pensions Scheme in the State Civil Service and the sum of One Hundred Million Naira (N 100,000,000) was released for gratuities of retirees on old Pensions Scheme.

According to the release, the payment takes immediately effect on Tuesday, 4th October, 2022 after the nation’s independence Public Holiday.

He assured all workers both serving and retired of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola’s commitment to always make their welfare the first priority in the entire and that nothing will be allowed to obstruct all things essential to make them progress.
