The Government of the State of Osun has again called on all the owners of Private Schools and Hospitals in the State who are yet to remit all necessary fees in respect of registration and renewal of their premises to the relevant Ministries, Departments & Agency of Government in the state to do so with immediate effect to avoid being sanctioned in accordance with the law.

The Chairman, Osun Internal Revenue Service, Prince Adegbite Ademikanra read the riot act during a weekly performance appraisal meeting held with all Directors and Heads of all the different Units of the Agency.

According to him, “ a fact finding exercise conducted across the length and breadth of the State, has revealed that many private schools and private hospitals in the state have been found wanting in respect of the payment of all necessary fees on registration and renewal of their establishments.
Prince Ademikanra described the act as illegal which according to him ” contradicts the rules and regulations of private business establishments “, with a declaration that ” it is condemable and punishable under the law”.

While re emphasising the importance of getting all business entities registered with the state Internal revenue board , Prince Adegbite Ademikanra added that it is also one of the means of boosting the revenue generation drive of the Oyetola-led administration.

He therefore, enjoined all the owners of private schools and hospitals to do the needful as officers on enforcement from the state Internal revenue agency who are currently embarking on a monitoring exercise across the state will not spare any effort in ensuring strict compliance.####
