As the registration and revalidation exercise of the All Progressive Congress continues across the country, the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation in the State of Osun, Mrs Funke Egbemode, has described the number of people trooping out for the exercise in Osun as a vote of confidence in the performance of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola’s administration.
Egbemode, who described Oyetola as a worthy ambassador of the Party, said his impressive performance as the Governor of the State of Osun has contributed to people keeping faith with the Party.
Egbemode, who spoke after the revalidation of her membership in Ward 7, Unit 4, Konta-Ijabe, Odo-Otin Local Government Area, also called on citizens of Osun to join the winning team wagon of a progressive and people-oriented government by registering or revalidating their membership.
“For us in the State of Osun, this registration or revalidation exercise will be a way of saying ‘Thank You’ to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola. It is a kind of vote of confidence in what the people have seen so far, because this administration has done well and part of the reciprocal gesture is for people to come out to show their support through registration.
“The kind of people that have been coming out to register are people you cannot easily sway with just sweet words about what government is doing or not doing. They are coming out not because of what they have heard but because of what they have seen and still seeing.
“I will enjoin those who are dilly-dallying on this issue of registration and revalidation in the State of Osun to look around and see what this present administration has done, not just for government workers but for everybody.
“For instance, the 332 Primary Health Centres are not serving people across the different constituencies. It is no longer a question of people going as far as Osogbo or Ilesha to get medical attention for ailments that require primary healthcare attention
“Osun is one of the very few States that have implemented the minimum wage with effect from November 2020. Full salaries are being paid. Roads are being opened up across the State, our youths are being encouraged to be self-reliant through empowerment and capacity building, and so much more.
“So, if you have a winning team, I think it’s only wise and logical not to change it. Election is around the corner, let us keep this team in place so that things can get better. Things can only get better under the Governor Oyetola’s administration.
“If a man has done well, he needs to be encouraged. When people come out to register, they are telling the Governor that he has done well. So, I encourage our people to see this as a serious exercise. If you have a man who takes care of you, you also must reciprocate. Let us all join this wagon that has done well for us in Osun. We cannot ignore what he has done, and if his works are visible, then let us join forces with him.” Egbemode stated.
Following her revalidation exercise at Ward 7 Unit 4, Konta-Ijabe, she also visited Ila Odo, Post Office, Unit 6; Town Hall, Ila Odo, Unit 5; and Ijabe Town Hall, Unit 3.
