The Government of the State of Osun has reiterated its determination and commitment to continuously raise the bar of infrastructural development in the state.
The state government also enunciated its determination to ensure year-round infrastructural development, adding that it would not be halted or slowed down by natural elements, particularly rain.
The Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engr. Remi Omowaye disclosed these while making a presentation during the Inter-Ministerial Media briefing, at the EXCO Lounge, Governor’s office, Osogbo.
Omowaye said the state had performed well in building infrastructure across the nooks and crannies of the state as evident in the quality of roads executed so far by the government since Governor Adegboyega Oyetola assured office.
He said the state government would continue to sustain its intensity on road construction and maintenance across the state despite weather conditions.
Omowaiye who described Governor Adegboyega Oyetola as a time-conscious leader, noted that the Governor had been the brain behind the successes that the ministry had recorded in the last one and half years of the administration.
According to him, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola works with timelines, and rain was not an excuse to overshoot the project delivery period.
Omowaiye said: “if you move round the State to check the roads that have been approved for rehabilitation and construction, you will see that work is ongoing. Once the governor gives you a deadline he expects you to deliver. Rain is no excuse here. Even the limitations of COVID-19 are not acceptable to Mr Governor when it comes to infrastructure delivery. ”
He added that Governor Oyetola is resolute and committed to standard job delivery, which has become a watchword for the project execution for all contracts and direct labour-executed works in the State of Osun. “He believes that the earlier projects are delivered the earlier the hardship of the people is alleviated.
