This is to congratulate the newly recruited teachers and welcome them into the Osun State Government Workforce. Their journey to this success point was defined strictly by hard work supervised painstakingly by professionals. We also sympathise with desperate cynics and their evil and feeble attempts to discredit the exercise and incite the people against the government. Their distasteful display of ignorance has hung them out to dry.

The Osun Teachers’ recruitment exercise was embarked on to address manpower deficit  in its public schools  and delusional attempts such as a message requesting that interview results be published for the world to see are simply shameless advertisements of illiteracy.

It is surprising that the publisher of this latest message and his fellow travelers trust JAMB enough for their matriculation and those of their relatives into higher institutions, but question the credibility of the same body when contracted by the state government to conduct recruitment of teachers. This shows how debased mischievous people become when thinking of scoring cheap political points.

The exams conducted by JAMB was a qualifying examination that was deployed to sort out applicants who scored 35 percent and 40 percent for NCE and Degree holders respectively. Despite the lowered bar, nine (9) applicants scored ZERO.

It may interest the propagandist who has chosen to ask questions about the sum realised from application form, that a verifiable amount was charged by the examination body, JAMB, for those who purchased PIN numbers. A fee paid to JAMB for services rendered does not amount to revenue to or for Osun.  All the states wanted was a recruitment exercise that will produce the next generation of quality teachers. It was not a money-making venture!

The exams body returned a little above 11,000 applicants for the proficiency interview conducted by senior tutors, which lasted for another three (3) months, during which they were allotted 30 minutes each for teaching practicals of their chosen subjects/topics. The allowances for the senior tutors and sundry expenses such as logistics and security, were catered for during this period.

The exercise, at its conclusion, produced 3,160 applicants who scored 50 percent and above. The successful ones are already warehoused , out of which teachers will be continually drawn for employment. At the first instance, 1,000 are being offered jobs and they shall commence training by 4th January, 2022.

Our bias for English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Agricultural Science, derives from the fact that these are the critical areas where manpower deficit abound in schools.

We are convinced that the administration of Mr Adegboyega Oyetola has taken the best decision to develop and grow Osun education sector, and indeed other sectors of Osun’s economy. Citizens are advised to continue to keep faith with the administration that means well for them, rather than paying attention to drowning politicians grabbing at straws to stay afloat.

Governor Adegboyega Oyetola will continue to take decisions that are in the best interest of every category of Osun citizens no matter the cacophony of voices of distraction..
