A suicide bomber, on Tuesday, died in Ebonyi, after the suicide vest he was wearing detonated on his body.
It was gathered that the incident, which occurred in Afikpo town (Afikpo local government area) of Ebonyi state, around 12 noon, happened after the bomber was refused entrance into a primary school by the security at the premises.
According to a source: “He made an attempt at entering Amaizu/ Amangballa Primary School but was turned back by the school security since he couldn’t justify his reason for visiting. He immediately started running inside a nearby bush before a big bang was heard”.
The source added that residents fled at the sound of the bang, reconvening later to discover the suspected suicide bomber lying dead.
Commissioner for Internal Security, Stanley Okoro, confirmed the incident.
