A middle-aged woman was on Saturday rescued unhurt by locals after her car plunged into Osun river.
The woman driving a Toyota Camry was heading towards Olaiya when the car suddenly slipped off the road on the Gbodofon bridge in Osogbo and plunged into the river.
It was gathered that some eyewitnesses around the scene jumped into the river and rescued the woman alive.
She was however taken to a nearby hospital.
Meanwhile, The Public Relations Officer of Osun State Fire Service, Ibrahim Adekunle, said, “The woman just left a mechanic’s workshop in Gbodofon and drove towards the Ogo-Oluwa area but later turned in front of the APC Secretariat and moved towards Aregbe Area.
“Few meters away from Gbodofon, the driver lost control and the car fell into the river. She was rescued alive by some locals and taken to hospital”, he said.
