Osun State Government has again reiterated its commitment to the welfare of all retirees and workers in the State of osun,noting that their welfare is of great importance and concern to the present administration.
The Secretary to the State Government of Osun, Prince Oluwole Oyebamiji gave the assurance while addressing the protesting contributory pensioners at the entrance of the Osun State Government Secretariat in Abere on Wednesday.
Prince Oyebamiji revealed that,the Government is aware of the enormous challenges of accumulated unpaid pension for some years back which the adminstration of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola is addressing through prompt release of fund into the pension account of the State.
Prince Oyebamiji maintained that,as at Tuesday, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola approved and paid another trance of money into the pension account as a means of meeting up with pension payment in the State.
He said, aside from prompt payment of monthly salary and pensions to the workers and retirees in the state,Osun is one of the few States that have implemented the new minimum wages in Nigeria,while embargo placed on promotion,advanncement and conversion of workers in Osun has equally been lifted by the Governor .
Prince Oyebamiji therefore appealed to the protesters to sheath their sword and allow government to look into their agitations for the payment of outstanding half salaries.
